Boxed cake-mix is one of those things that I definitely took for granted back before I was gluten-free.
Now, I would give ANYTHING to pick up any box from a grocery store aisle, mix it with a couple of fresh ingredients, bake it at 350 ° F, and devour the whole thing.
Okay, maybe not quite. But you get the picture. (Get it? Because there’s a picture… Awkward)
King Arthur Flour is hands down one of my favorite gluten-free brands.
Their certified gluten-free label is reassuring to those who, like me, suffer from either a gluten intolerance, allergy, or Celiac Disease. Their boxed mixes also contain no preservatives, are non GMO, and kosher.
This perfectly-blended cake mix promises a perfect and QUICK cake every time! It’s moist, light, fluffy, and sweet.
I used Betty Crocker’s cream cheese frosting to ice this yellow cake, one of my favorite cake combinations.
My father, a total gluten-aholic, prefers this box mix over any other and even requested it for his birthday -yeah, it’s that good.
Overall, I give this boxed mix two thumbs up and five gold stars.
Convenience : 5/5 (Whips up in no time)
Price: 4/5 (You can snag this for $6.95 on King Arthur Flour’s website or pick it up in a local store like Wal-mart)
Texture: 5/5 (Guests won’t be able to tell this is gluten-free)
King Arthur Flour’s motto, “Try it Once, Trust it Always”, really stands true.
